SUSTAINABLE - MINIMAL INTERVENTION - VEGAN

Koerner wine is a partnership between brothers Damon and Jonathan Koerner. Both grew up in the Clare Valley but have since spent time working and studying around Australia and abroad.

All wines are produced from fruit grown in the Watervale area of the Clare Valley, with the majority coming from their family’s vineyard, Gullyview. This vineyard has been owned and managed by their parents, Anthony and Christine Koerner, for the past 35 years.

The winemaking philosophy is very simple – the wines are made in the vineyard. The date of picking is the most crucial part of the process. Once the grapes make their way to the winery, they are carefully nurtured and each batch treated individually. An understanding of terroir and the individual varieties enables them to produce unique wines using nothing but the grapes and a small amount of sulphur!

The Koerners produce wines to a style that they enjoy drinking. Generally these wines are light, fresh, textured and well struc- tured with high drinkability in mind. To achieve this they pick early and use very hands off winemaking techniques. The reds are bright, vibrant and can be enjoyed young with a great balance between primary fruit, acidity and phenolics while the whites express their aromatics and primary fruit, while showing mouthfeel, structure and texture.

021 KOERNER ‘NIELLUCCIO’ SANGIOVESE – CLARE VALLEY, SA

Pure Sangiovese – soft cherry and dusty tannins. Organically farmed fruit from the Vivian Vineyard in Watervale. Hand harvested and sorted in vineyard in late February. Destem retaining ~ 50% whole berries, no whole bunch. Natural ferment in open top steel fermenters, hand plunged twice daily. 2 weeks on skins, 2000 litre Slavonian Oak foudre for 9 months and steel for 3 months.

2022 BROTHERS KOERNER RIESLING – CLARE VALLEY, SA

Pure Watervale Riesling – lemon and lime with soft mineral textures. From the Gullyview vineyard. Black and red clay on limestone. Fermented in stainless steel for 3 weeks at 18 degrees before aging on fine lees for 5 months.

2022 KOERNER ‘PIGATO’ VERMENTINO – CLARE VALLEY, SA

Vermentino on skins – peach, iced tea and super refreshing. Fruit from the Gullyview Vineyard, Watervale. Hand harvested and sorted in vineyard in February. Destem retaining ~ 50% whole berries with no whole bunch. Natural ferment in open top steel fermenters, hand plunged twice daily. 20 days on skins before aging in stainless steel for 7 months.

2022 KOERNER WINES ‘TIVER’ ROSE - CLARE VALLEY

A blend of sangiovese and sciacarello from a single (Vivian) vineyard. We’re in rose land here.

Fragrant with sour cherries, cranberry, rose hip tea, sweet spice, a lick of minty herbs too. Palate and bouquet send similar vibes. The palate is juicy, has a little tug of fine, lacy tannin to finish, a hint of red berry sweetness but there’s spice and savouriness laid on deftly with blood orange tang to close. Finely done, well done rose of immense drinkability.

2023 KOERNER SAVAGNIN - ADELAIDE HILLS, SA

A beautifully aromatic and textured white wine showcasing the distinctive qualities of Savagnin from the Adelaide Hills. The nose is fresh and expressive, with notes of green apple, citrus peel, and a hint of almond, alongside delicate floral and herbal undertones. On the palate, it offers crisp flavors of lemon, lime, and a touch of pear, balanced by a refreshing minerality and subtle salinity. The wine’s vibrant acidity and medium body lead to a clean, zesty finish. Ideal for pairing with seafood, Asian cuisine, or light vegetable dishes.

2023 KOERNER CHARDONNAY - ADELAIDE HILLS, SA

A vibrant and well-balanced Chardonnay that reflects the cool-climate conditions of the Adelaide Hills. The nose is fresh and inviting, with aromas of crisp green apple, citrus zest, and a hint of stone fruit, complemented by subtle oak and nutty undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with flavors of lemon curd, white peach, and a touch of almond. The bright acidity provides excellent structure, leading to a clean, mineral-driven finish with a hint of creamy texture. Ideal for pairing with grilled chicken, seafood pasta, or roasted vegetables.

2023 KOERNER LENSWOOD CHARDONNAY - ADELAIDE HILLS, SA

An exceptional, terroir-driven Chardonnay from the cool-climate Lenswood region of Adelaide Hills. The nose is complex, offering bright citrus aromas of lemon and lime, alongside subtle white peach, floral notes, and a hint of flinty minerality. On the palate, it is beautifully structured, with flavors of crisp green apple, grapefruit, and a touch of almond, balanced by precise acidity and a refined oak influence. The finish is long, clean, and lingering, with a light creaminess that adds depth. Perfect for pairing with fresh seafood, creamy risottos, or roasted poultry.

2023 KOERNER PINOT NOIR - ADELAIDE HILLS,

A bright and expressive Pinot Noir that showcases the cool-climate finesse of the Adelaide Hills. The nose opens with aromas of fresh red berries like raspberry, cherry, and a hint of strawberry, along with subtle earthy and floral notes. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and vibrant, with juicy flavors of red currant, cranberry, and a touch of spice. The wine is smooth, with fine tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a clean and refreshing finish. Perfect for pairing with roasted duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom dishes.

2023 KOERNER SANGIOVESE - ADELAIDE HILLS, SA

A fresh and vibrant expression of Sangiovese from the cool Adelaide Hills. The nose is filled with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and subtle herbal notes, with a hint of dried Italian herbs and a touch of spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and fruit-driven, with flavors of red berries, cranberry, and a dash of black pepper. The wine’s lively acidity and fine tannins provide balance, leading to a smooth, dry finish with a touch of earthiness. Perfect for pairing with pasta dishes, grilled meats, or charcuterie.

2021 KOERNER ‘LDR’ GRENACHE VERMENTINO

A unique and refreshing blend that combines the aromatic complexity of Grenache with the crispness of Vermentino. The nose opens with bright red berry aromas, including raspberry and strawberry, followed by subtle citrus and herbal notes. On the palate, it’s light and vibrant, with flavors of red fruit, citrus zest, and a touch of green almond. The wine has refreshing acidity, a silky texture, and a clean, crisp finish with a mineral edge. Perfect for pairing with seafood, light salads, or fresh Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
